Destination Disney - Disney in Pink

When I think PINK and Disney... what comes to mind?

Once upon a dream...

Princess Aurora.  The official Princess of our house.  That honor was bestowed on her the day she kissed my 5 year old on the cheek.  It left a mark, not only on his face, but in our hearts.  Stephen thought it was the coolest thing ever.  And Aurora remained on her pedestal even after this years visit when, my now 6 year old, asked if she remember said kiss.  "Of course!" she replied.  "It looks like it's been washed off since then".  So.  Sweet.  Here's to Princess Aurora.

The kiss. 2011

Noticing that it's now missing.  2012

Disney's Lion King Movie Night

The Circle of Life.  Hakuna Matata.  Can You Feel the Love Tonight.  Some of the best music in Disney history, all in one movie.  Tonight we partied like a bunch of animals!

slimy, yet statisfying

As always, free printables!  (Food tags and Jungle Juice labels.)

The kids made Zazu's Kazoos.  They loved them!

Disney's Treasure Planet Movie Night

This one gets my vote for most underrated Disney movie.  I just love Disney's Treasure Planet.  If you've never seen it, I definitely suggest giving it a shot.  You won't regret it!  Hey, why not make it a movie night!?  *wink*

delightfully tangy, yet robust
For dinner, we enjoyed some Little Dippers (popcorn chicken) and Big Dippers (chicken nuggets).

Snacks included Capt. Amelia's Cat Treats (Lucky Charms cereal.  I've always thought it looked like cat food. lol) and Flint's Treasure (caramel corn, Hershey's Nuggets, Skittles, chocolate coins).  Note the pirate hats!  I bought these, colored over the "faces" with black marker, then used a white paint pen to make them look like Flint's Pirate Skull.  Cool huh?!

Powdered Spheroids (donuts), Dr. Doppler's Biscuits (graham crackers) and Purp Juice (grape soda) to wash it down.

Caramel Pecan Scroops (this recipe with pretzel legs stuck into the Rollo before it cools) and Zorellian Jelly (Gummy) Worms.

Bonzabeast Stew (chocolate pudding and white gumballs with eyes drawn on using food color writers).

As always, I'm happy to share my printables with you!  Here are the food tags and soda bottle wrap.  Enjoy!

the loot of a thousand worlds

Tonight's activity was Black Hole Toss. I used a foam board (poster board won't stand on its own) and cut various sized holes in it. The smallest being worth the most points. The kids then tossed bean bags and tried to get them into the holes. As always, EVERYONE'S A WINNER! Their prizes? Flarp. Or in honor of tonight's movie, Morph!

Destination Disney - Disney in Orange

When I think ORANGE and Disney... what comes to mind?

Lions,Tiggers & Bears, Oh My!

Years and years ago I bought this adorable shirt at Disney's Animal Kingdom with a lion and a bear on either side of Tigger.  It read "Lions, Tiggers & Bears, Oh My!".  Cute, right?!  Being a Wizard of Oz fan and Disney fan, it was one of my very favorite possessions.  It started to fade from its crazy-multiple washes, but I didn't care.  When it got stained though, I set out to buy a new one, only to find that I couldn't.  Disney no longer carried it.  Sad face.  Now it's been replaced with that one of Pooh with the magnifying glass, inches from a tiger, asking "Tigger, is that you?".  Yes, still cute, but just not the same.

I still have it (as you can see!), maybe I'll try one of my Pinterest-stain-removal-methods on it.  I knew I kept it for a reason!  Sure, I'd have to also use some of my Pinterest-weight-loss-methods to actually wear it, but hey, that's a whole other issue. *wink*

Anywho... back to the topic at hand.  ORANGE!  Tiggers.  Tigers.  That's what comes to mind when I think... orange and Disney.

Destination Disney - Disney in Blue

When I think BLUE and Disney... what comes to mind?

So this is love...

Disney blue could be so many things but instantly, my thoughts of blue go to Cinderella and her castle.

Built as the centerpiece to my very favorite Walt Disney World park, Cinderella's castle is topped with lovely royal blue turrets.  Cinderella's dress however, is a softer pale blue.  My Sami has one of these of her very own.  What princess doesn't?

Enjoy!

What a difference a year makes!  The kids in front of Cinderella's castle in 2011 (left) and 2012 (right).
