Destination Disney - Disney in Turquoise/Teal

When I think TURQUOISE/TEAL and Disney... what comes to mind?

Just keep swimming....

That luxurious, cool, refreshing water.  Pools.  Attractions.  Mermaids.  In the hot Florida summer sun, the lovely turquoise color is man's (and woman's) best friend!  We just about swoon when we see it after a long, hot day.  These photos may not be as refreshing, but they're still pretty fun to look at.  Enjoy (and keep cool)!

Disney's Meet the Robinsons Movie Night

We watched one of my favorites tonight!  Disney's Meet the Robinsons.  Funny, sweet, touching.  Disney at its finest.

keep moving forward

For deocrations I made a Carl head with the fantastic "Keep Moving Forward" quote popping out.  The signs were made with my Cricut.  Carl's head is scrapbook paper.  I used a piece of floral foam inside to stand the flags up.

On either side of Carl, I made Memory Scanners (also made on my Cricut).  One for each of the kiddos, and each has one of their favorite memories from our last visit to Walt Disney World.  Stephen at the Pirates League, Sami with Cinderella after getting a "princessed" at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

bake them cookies, lucille

We dined on Art's Intergalactic Pizza, Lewis' Fruit Hat Salad, Peanut Butter & Jelly Cookies, Bowler Hats, Gummy Frankies and Goob's Juice Boxes.

For a tutorial on making these great bolwer hats, please click here.

Art's Intergalactic Pizza box top is available here.  It fits a small pizza box best if you print one half at a time.

My food tags are available for use, here.  Enjoy!

The kids wore their Lewis hair and glasses with pride!  Both were made on my Cricut.  Later they traded their Lewis alter-ego's and became Bowler Hat Guy (and Girl)!

behold, the awesome power of... mount vesuvius

For tonight's activity, I bought these volcanos at Michaels.  They were $3 each.  You add water and the volcano "erupts", disolving away to reveal...

i have a big head, and little arms...

The dinos then stayed put, in the water for 3 days and grew to the size of the container.  But 3 days?!  Phew... I'm not sure how well that plan was thought through.

Bowler Hat Snack Tutorial

The perfect little snack for our Meet the Robinsons movie night, sure.  But they could also work well for your 007 movie night, or your Sherlock Holmes movie night.  Laurel & Hardy.  Charlie Chaplin.  This bowler hat is quite diverse.

You'll need:

Oreos (not necessarily Double Stuf, we just prefer them that way)
Chocolate donut holes
Black icing with small round tip

Carefully divide the Oreos and remove the creme filling.  Dispose of, how you wish.  This is where having Double Stuf Oreos is an extra pleasure!

Each hat requires 1/2 an Oreo and a whole donut hole.

Using a knife, gently scrape away any left over creme on the Oreo so that the base to your hat is as black as possible.

Cut off a small amount of the donut holes so that they sit flat.  Don't cut too much, you still want them to sit high but not roll away or buckle inward when they're sitting on the base.

Put a small bit of black frosting on the Oreo to hold the donut in place.

Once stacked, pipe a small line of black frosting around the base of the donut hole.

I found that leaving the donuts in a Ziplock bag overnight, darkened up the glaze making them not look so "shiny".The donut in the front here was in a Ziplock overnight, the one right behind it wasn't.  See the difference?

Destination Disney - Disney in White

When I think WHITE and Disney... what comes to mind?

Disney Towel Art

After a long day in the hot parks, what's more fun to come back to than some Disney Towel Art?!  I enjoy it so much that I actually get a little disappointed when I don't find some.  I know, I know, Mousekeeping isn't required to leave me those adorable little animals in the bathroom or iconic Mickey heads on my bed, but I sure to love it when they do!

Wanna know something cool about your towel animals?  You can take them home with you!!  You're actually encouraged to!  That has got to be one of the coolest Disney souvenirs e-v-e-r!

Not staying on propery but still want a towel animal?  If you visit the Polynesian Resort early (before noon) and go just inside the main entrance you'll find a Cast Member making Hawaiian leis with a small table set aside for children to join in and make their own.  Some days you can also find a Cast Member making towel animals here!  No, really!  Stop by and watch, maybe you'll even get to take one home!

Enjoy some of the creations that have been left for me.

Destination Disney - Disney in Yellow

When I think YELLOW and Disney... what comes to mind?

Here are a few of my favorite (yellow) things....

Rapunzel's tresses.  Belle' and Snow White's dresses.  3D glasses for our eyes.  Sci-Fi Dine In rides.  Candles that sing.  Brooms that clean things.  Who knew The World had so much of this lovely golden hue.

I'm totally a corn ball today, huh?  I must be getting giddy because our WDW trip is only 13 days away!  Yay!  (ok, I'm done)

Enjoy!
